Noreen Flanagan wins CSME Editor of the Year Award

Last night following the first day of the MagNet conference sessions, the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors held a soiree to announce the winners of its annual Editors’ Choice Awards, where the Editor of the Year award was presented to Noreen Flanagan, editor-in-chief of ELLE Canada.

 

ELLE Canada also won the CSME Award for Best Display Writing, and tied for the award for Best Magazine (medium circ) with Today’s Parent. BC Business won Best Magazine (small circ). Western Living won for best Art Integration. BC Business and Fairmont magazines shared the award for Best Front of Book. Today’s Parent swept the awards for Best Web Editorial and Best Tablet Edition.

Meanwhile, at the Circulation Management Association of Canada’s annual awards, Outdoor Canada was named Best Magazine, while Canada’s History won the Audience Development Award. Mark Hamill won the CMC award for Lifetime Achievement. Cindy Chang won for Vendor of the Year, while Fiona Wong won the CMC Circulation Scholarship.

 

Congrats to the winners. The National Magazine Awards are coming on Friday June 10.
